02The money trail
One sequence: agreed, committed, actual, invoiced, paid.
Materials count from the day they are ordered, not the day the invoice turns up, so a late bill does not flatter the cost of a job. Labour counts from the day it is confirmed on the job.
Absence is never zero.
A timesheet comes in without a rate.
Count the missing part as nothing and the total looks better than it is. Auberon shows the total, says + unknown, and names what is missing. Missing information is never quietly treated as zero.
03If you make what you fit
Made in the workshop, fitted on site, kept as one job.
The vanity units are cut and assembled in the workshop, sprayed, and fitted on site a month later.
In Auberon that is one job: one set of stages, one money trail, one record. The pieces move from bench to spray shop to van to site on the same programme as the fitting, and a template booked before its carcass is finished is flagged in the diary, in days.
The client follows their made-to-order pieces through the workshop as part of the same job, alongside the work on site — the same page, the same minute.

04The record
Every change has a name and a reason on it.
A manual adjustment to the day’s crew cannot be saved without a reason, and the reason is written to the log with the name and the time. A priced change, a client’s decision, an issued drawing: each one is a dated entry on the job.
People who leave are deactivated, never deleted, so the record of their work stays whole.
